Early career
Morioka went to Kyoto prefectural Kumiyama senior high school. The high school soccer club was a very strong team in Kyoto Prefecture, and he belonged to the soccer club for three years. In addition, Kumiyama High School has produced several professional soccer players.
Club carrer
Vissel Kobe
Morioka received an offer from Cerezo Osaka and Vissel Kobe when he was in the third grade of high school. He decided to join the latter club.
About the beginning of the 2010 season, he could not play in the match much, but gradually he started playing on the way and eventually played eight matches.
In 2011 season, he began to participate in more matches. He achieved a hat trick in a game where he decided his first goal in the professional.
In the 2013 season when Vissel Kobe was relegated to J2 (The second division of the Japan Professional Football League), Morioka was given a jersey number “10”. Early in the season was not able to participate in the game due to injury, but after returning he played 11 games as a starting member and recorded a score of 5 and 6 assists. Thanks to his success, the club was promoted to J1 in a year. After the season ended, he again received an offer from Cerezo Osaka but refused it.
For the 2014 season and the 2015 season, Morioka became a player indispensable to the team and made a great contribution to the team with scoring and assistance.
Śląsk Wrocław
In 2016 season, Morioka who was a big success in the J-League finally received an offer from the European club. That club was Śląsk Wrocław belonging to the Polish first division league (Ekstraklasa). He became a regular player from the first year, participated in 36 matches, recorded 8 goals and 9 assists.
Waasland-Beveren
In the 2017 season, Waasland-Beveren belonging to Jupiler Pro League (Belgian First Division A) who was interested in Morioka’s success, won him from Śląsk Wrocław on June 7. As of January 31, 2018, he has already played 29 matches and has recorded 9 goals and 11 assists.
R.S.C. Anderlecht
Morioka moved to R. S. C. Anderlecht. The contract period is three and a half years.
International career
The debut at Morioka’s Japan national football team was against Uruguay, an international friendly match (Kirin Challenge Cup) held on September 5, 2014. He participated in substitution with Morishige who was in the center back position from the latter half 44 minutes.
Since the previous game, he has not been convened to the Japan national football team. (As of September 5, 2017)
